2 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Rampage (Jan 20)

Ups...

2. Short-But-Sweet

Eddie Kingston Ortiz
AEW

Rampage did have some bright spots. No, really.

Ortiz chewing out Eddie Kingston for his recent behaviour was one of them. The promo skit set the table for Eddie coming out by having Ortiz rant away to Schiavone, then the former Inner Circle man couldn't resist poking the bear by questioning what Kingston's family and mentors would think of his actions.

Eddie blasted his friend with a steel cage and stormed off. The segment leaves more questions than concrete answers, but it did achieve something - House Of Black are successfully f*cking with others and causing a rift between mates without even having to be there.

Obviously, AEW needs to follow up on things to make it truly meaningful, but this short promo segment worked. Hopefully, the fact that TNT Champ Darby Allin is out to beat every member of HOB doesn't make the Ortiz/Kingston story messy, but this fan is willing to give it a chance.
