2 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Rampage (June 10)
2. 'This Is…Awesome?'
OK, so this probably isn't going to be popular with most readers.
That might've been one of the most apathetic, "This Is Awesome" chants yet. Even some of the fans shown on camera mid-chant looked bored as they went through the motions with it. A lot of people aren't going to like this, but opinions are opinions; that six-man main wasn't as special as AEW wanted it to be either.
Granted, the final few minutes were all-action, but the preceding 10 or so? They played like everyone was on half-speed. No, tempo isn't everything for a match and maybe yours truly is just numb to constant multi-mans by now, but this didn't reinvent the wheel like Excalibur and Taz claimed on comms.
All Elite has put on six-mans with way more energy and purpose than that one. Honestly, skip the first half of the match and tune in for Ospreay starting to feel it and FTR coordinating everyone's mad rush towards the finish.
