2 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Rampage (Oct 28)

2. Why Was This Booked?

Keith Lee Serpentico
AEW

Pointless.

That one word would perfectly sum up Keith Lee's seven second squash win over Serpentico. Honestly, guys - Lee is in the tag-team division. You're not heating him up for a major singles run, so what was the point of this? It was the kind of bad squash that blights a wrestling show more than helps the guy going over.

Squash matches are fine when they're building towards something, basically. When they're not, they're useless and a total waste of air time. Tragically, Schiavone went on to call that nothing triumph a "big win" during his in-ring interview with Keith, which was just laughable.

Literally nobody would've missed this had Tony Khan deleted it from the first draft format sheets and decided that Lee should get some promo time instead. AEW still could've got to where they wanted to go. Where they wanted to go was eh...it was something.
