2 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Rampage (Oct 28)

Ups...

2. ‘Daddy Magic’ Shines

Jon Moxley Matt Menard
AEW

Matt Menard doesn't get a ton of chances to show what he can do in singles matches, so it's been nice to see him get a few bouts with top names like Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley over the past month or so. The best thing about all of this is that 'Daddy Magic' has looked great out there without a tag-team partner.

Start getting worried, Angelo Parker. Only kidding.

There was no way Menard was picking up the win in this World Title "Eliminator" match, but it was still a fun watch that told a decent story. The Jericho Appreciation Society goons tried to turn it into a handicap situation by using the numbers game against Mox, and that gave the champ reason to be distracted.

Moxley seems super-motivated these days too, which is awesome to see. He must be relishing the chance to work with some fresh faces like Menard, and both guys delivered a worthy opener that made this week's show somewhat watchable.
