2 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Aug 27)

Downs...

6. Why Is This Happening 2.0?

Chad Gable Otis Cesaro

Cesaro wrestled Otis in a short bout on the 16 July episode of SmackDown. Like that, this follow up with Alpha Academy leader Chad Gable was completely pointless and didn't do anything for either side. That, ladies and gents, is the living, breathing definition of poor booking.

This was a total waste of great talent.

WWE hit the repeat button for no good reason, then had the cheek to have superior workers like Chad and Cesaro go just a few short minutes before Otis ran in for the DQ result. Again, one must question why Cesaro is even feuding with a tag-team in the first place? Why would he (or they) be interested in that when there's nothing on the line?

Gable vs. Cesaro could be awesome if it was a 10-minute sprint or a 25-minute epic, but WWE don't seem up for that. Nah, it's much better to send them out there without any clear direction and then make Cesaro look like a chump, apparently.
