2 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Aug 27)

5. An Unnecessary Speed Bump

The actual match itself was fine, but nobody needed this four-way elimination between Bianca Belair, Carmella, Zelina Vega and Liv Morgan. Nobody. It doesn't help that literally everyone not-named Belair or Becky Lynch lacks any credibility to speak of in SmackDown's women's division.

This ate up far too much time for what it achieved.

Of course Bianca is going to challenge Lynch in a rematch for the belt she lost in just 26 seconds at SummerSlam - what other option have these writers given themselves? Zelina is a jobber, Liv Morgan just whines a lot without backing it up, and 'Mella is more content to talk about her appearance than her matches.

Worse, WWE produced a mind-numbing promo train to set the four-way up, and even that encroached on fan happiness. People were glad to see Becky back out there before everyone else piled on to put themselves forward for a title shot they don't deserve.
