2 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE SmackDown (July 15)

6. Speaking Of Repeat Buttons

Lacey Evans walking out on a match was identical to last week too. The heel (who remarkably didn't turn yet again on Monday's Raw) demanded a second introduction, then cut a promo on fans and pied her match vs. Aliyah. Meanwhile, the babyface just sorta stood there awkwardly before leaving.

OK.

There are multiple problems with all of this. Firstly, there was practically nothing to differentiate this segment from last week. Second, Aliyah has no substance to her character whatsoever. She's the giggly, ditzy sort who's happy to be here, and doesn't even argue when heels ditch rare opportunities to work TV matches.

Evans is struggling too, but that's hardly her fault. WWE's erratic booking has caused fans to feel nothing but apathy towards her - everyone's sitting around waiting on her next turn, and that's not good. This was a real miss.
