2 Ups & 9 Downs From WWE Raw (March 29)

Downs…

9. Breaking Up The Band

The Hurt Business

For a company that revels in telling us about all the great factions in its history – D-Generation X, Evolution, League of Nations (kidding) – they also seem to take pride in doing dumb things with its stables. First, it booked Zelina Vega’s group as a bunch of losers and broke them up, and on Monday, they blew up its most successful stable on Raw.

The Hurt Business reached the mountaintop and held the world and tag team championships… for all of two weeks before Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin (who had been at odds, but miraculously squashed their rivalry) lost the tag titles. Then last week, the former tag champs were portrayed as bumbling and incompetent lackeys of Lashley.

Then on Monday, it all blew up, with MVP and Lashley calling them an embarrassment and dismissing them leading to Shelton demanding a singles match against him. Because that’s what we needed – to break up the Hurt Business two weeks before WrestleMania just as they were riding high.

You’d like to think WWE has a plan, but then we’ve have to say we haven’t been watching Raw for the past few years.
