2 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (23 Sept)

1. What Happened To The Quarter Finals?

Seriously, what happened? We won't get to see half of them?! WWE know that most people who watch NXT don't live in Florida, right? It's madness that live events would get to watch the Tag Team Classic quarter finals and the infinitely bigger TV crowd is forced to enjoy piecemeal highlights. It's understandable that not all of the qualifying stages would be shown, but to go a week without a single Classic match on TV makes zero sense. A tournament is an absolute gift for a booker. A series of matches with in-built stakes, which only get higher with each passing match. So far there have been 10 matches as part of this tournament, and the TV audience has only gotten to see 5. Their anticipation for the final isn't rising anywhere near as high as it should. Why have half of these matches been reduced to highlights packages hosted by Kyle Edwards, who looks he plopped out the same 'overproduced bland white guy' machine that gave us Michael Cole and Tom Phillips? After all the recent successful touring that NXT boasts about, I can't believe that live event attendance is struggling enough to need the boost of Tag Classic matches. It's unlikely, so why, after upsetting Solomon Crowe and Adrian Flipping Neville, do Jordan and Gable have to battle off-camera in their quarter final?! It's severely reducing the TV audience's investment in the tournament. I DON'T CARE ABOUT KYLE EDWARDS OR ANY OF THE THINGS HE HAS TO SAY.
