José González AKA Invader #1 is undoubtedly more infamous across the wider wrestling landscape for his role in one of wrestling grizzliest tragedies, and his in-ring work left nothing memorable to replace the tales told of what happened on the night of Bruiser Brody's death.

In July 1988, González fatally stabbed professional wrestler Brody backstage, though he was ultimately acquitted of murder a year later after a jury accepted that he was acting in self-defence. It's the story of his life in the industry - the sort of tale a legendary career couldn't overtake, let alone a meek and insignificant one.

Known for his time in Puerto Rico’s World Wrestling Council (WWC), González’s matches were more often than not dull and lifeless. His brawling style, while fitting for the WWC’s blood-soaked atmosphere, was formulaic and devoid of any technical proficiency. Invader #1’s inability to adapt or elevate his game for major matches and brawls left audiences disengaged. Despite Puerto Rican prominence, his in-ring legacy is marked by a lack of memorable performances, and marred by the aforementioned controversy.
