In the late 80s, the juggernaut that was the World Wrestling Federation began marketing its product, specifically the characters and likenesses seen on TV. The marketing campaign undertaken by Vince McMahon had never been seen before with regards to a professional wrestling organization. The company now known as WWE began selling all sorts of merchandise primarily through its monthly publication, WWF Magazine. As the company grew, Vince grew his distribution efforts and soon officially-licensed WWF action figures began appearing in stores all across the world.
