Dusty Rhodes' run in the World Wrestling Federation is memorable purely for how poorly the legend was treated. Vince McMahon did all he could to run Dusty down, another example of how strangely self-sabotaging wrestling can be.

It was arguably Jesse 'The Body' Ventura who would go hardest on Dusty, providing a never-ending barrage of insulting soundbites from the commentary booth.

Possibly the harshest dig aimed at the Dream predictably came in the shape of an insult to his physique. Ventura remarked that 'Dusty Rhodes wouldn't win a bodybuilding contest for best abs, he'd win for most abs'.

Harsh, but fair.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
