11. Money In The Bank (WrestleMania 21)
It's been told that Chris Jericho was the man who came up with the idea of 'Money In The Bank'. Envisioning a scenario whereby he could help turn what seemed like a routine, dull multi-man match at WrestleMania 21 into something special, Y2J pitched the idea to WWE's management, and they loved it immediately. Given that it was the first bout in the stipulation's history, the initial Money In The Bank clash had a freshness to it that subsequent affairs lacked somewhat. Of course, it didn't hurt that the lineup was arguably the best the gimmick has ever witnessed - Jericho was joined by Shelton Benjamin, Edge, Chris Benoit, Christian and Kane. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6bu0i_wwe-wrestlemania-21-money-in-the-ba_news Vying for a briefcase suspended above the ring, one which would guarantee the winner a shot at one of the major World Titles floating around the promotion at the time, fans bought into the concept, and it was a success right off the bat. Truthfully, even if the match had been a one-off, there was enough about it to make it memorable, but the idea had legs, and WWE wanted to run with it.
