Sting's long awaited first match in WWE was a success. It was an enjoyable mixture of sound in-ring action, with a great dose of sports entertainment from the DX vs NWO surprise. The Stinger was looking really good, showing no signs of ring rust. The most memorable spot of the match was his flying crossbody to the outside. As for Triple H, he carried it, bringing a level of excellence that helped Sting look far younger than he actually is. DX and the NWO getting involved may have been overkill to some, but because of the history and the size of the names involved, it actually fitted the narrative and purpose. It was enjoyable, although the result, with Triple H going over, definitely dampened the legacy of the match in the mind of the fans. Still, this was great, it deserves to be remembered in Sting's anthology of achievements.
