This might not have been the smoothest elimination ever, but it didn't have to be. Batista's cruel denial of Shawn Michaels' dream at the 2010 Royal Rumble is the best ever, simply because of the sheer weight of storytelling behind it. Michaels sells it perfectly, scrabbling for the top rope even as he's clubbed away by the colossal Animal, before instinctively bringing his hands to his head as he hits the floor. The aftermath is just as dramatic. HBK loses the plot, attacking referees and making a vain attempt to re-enter the Rumble, before finally coming to terms with his fate and staggering to the back, head down. From start to finish, it's a fantastic display of psychology and storytelling from one of the best ever. Which other eliminations belong on this list?
