20 ECW Easter Eggs, References And In-Jokes You Never Noticed

13. ECW Hosted One Of The Few Real WWF vs. WCW Matches

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFaT0_6kEqI There was a weird time in pro wrestling wherein ECW's roster of talent was getting raided on a semi-regular basis of top-tier performers. The biggest blow of this era was not when Tazz finally debuted in the WWF at the 2000 Royal Rumble, but arguably when the then ECW World Heavyweight Champion signed with World Championship Wrestling during his title run. Contemplating just how to get the ECW title off of Awesome (who had just committed a major wrestling industry sin in not properly giving notice as champion while at the same time heading to a reviled competitor) Paul Heyman placed the call to Vince McMahon who allowed Tazz to return to ECW for one night to defeat Mike Awesome to send him packing to WCW after losing to a WWF competitor. Of course, this allowed for an epic Smackdown match between ECW Champion Tazz and WWF Champion Triple H (which Tazz lost). Later losing the title to Tommy Dreamer (who then promptly lost the title to Justin Credible), this was a unique moment in time capitalized upon with some truly amazing (and possibly forgotten) moments.
