20 Greatest Ever WWE Bromances

14. Roddy Piper and Bob Orton

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zx90gb4U4Q8 The inaugural WrestleMania was built upon the hatred between Roddy Piper and Hulk Hogan, but a strong supporting cast is what made it legendary. Hogan had TV star Mr. T on his side, while Piper had tag partner Paul Orndorff along with Bob Orton as his bodyguard. Orton, and his strangely un-healable arm, were always right beside Piper as he drew the ire of fans and opponents across the country. When you have a mouth like Piper, you need someone to watch your back. They teamed together in memorable sketches like shaving The Haiti Kid's head. Piper held the scissors cutting away, as Orton held back the shorter man back. It was diabolical. Piper, though, wasn't all filled with hatred, as he openly expressed his love for Orton. He would kiss him on the cheek, and gleefully exclaim "He's my bodyguard!" They were not shy about their affection. Unfortunately, the love soured and the two began a feud. After the break up went down, WWF even aired a music video for them lamenting their falling out. The final shot with them inside of a heart cutout may still bring a tear to the eye.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
