From Dublin, the Irish brawler Sheamus is the current holder of the WWE United States Championship. He had a meteoric rise in the company after first appearing in June of 2009. He won the WWE Championship before the end of that year and had great success as a heel utilising the brutality of his gimmick. Whilst previous Irish wrestlers, such as Finlay, have been troubled by their nationality (see: Hornswoggle as Finlay's leprechaun), but this is something that hasn't affected Sheamus. He has hovered around the top of the company for the entirety of his five years as a superstar, wearing championships five times, being crowned King of the Ring in 2010 and winning the 2012 Royal Rumble. Rumours abound of a heel turn for the "Great White" as he reaches a crossroads in his career. Either way, he has already crafted an impressive tenure with the WWE that doesn't look likely to end soon.
