20 Greatest Matches In WWE's Empty Arena Era
2. Sasha Banks vs Bayley - Hell In A Cell
Throughout the empty arena era, Sasha and Bayley have been shining lights of quality amid the nonsense. A patiently booked story told beautifully by two pros who understood how to overcome the awkwardness of crowdless rooms, we witnessed the progression of best friends turned mortal foes. All it needed was a pay off.
Thankfully, it got one. While some eyebrows were raised at blowing off the feud as soon as Bayley turned on Sasha, the Hell In A Cell clash we got was pure dynamite, and would have been tough to top.
The cage was used to the max, as were a plethora of weapons, including tables, ladders, and kendo sticks. This match was plonked on the middle of the card, and it’s clear that the two performers were eager to demonstrate just how big of a mistake that was.
The finish is immaculate, with Bayley hoisted by her own petard in the shape of a Banks Statement assisted by the chair with which Sasha had previously been assaulted. The Hell In A Cell annual event can mean matches which don’t merit it getting the cell treatment - here it was more than deserved.
