Rick Rude was a special kind of heel for the nineteen eighties. Before Rude, the typical wrestler physique looked more like Dusty Rhodes or Buddy Rose. Even the well-put together grapplers like Bruno Sammartino or Ric Flair were more barrel chested than ripped. When Rick Rude bragged that men wanted to be him and women wanted to be with him, he wasnt lying. He inspired burning jealousy in the male fans and screaming lust in the females. All it would take was a slow disrobing followed by a sensual hip gyration and the arena would be filled deep boos and high-pitched screams at the same time.
