Emma had endured a very nasty, ugly call up to the main roster in 2014, one that saw her utilised a comedy character rather than a wrestler and completely killed the momentum she had built for herself between the ropes. After a quick introduction as the love interest of Santino Marella, she faded into the background, appearing irregularly on Superstars and Main Event before returning to NXT in what appeared to be a demotion.

Rather than allowing her failures to define her, Emma exploded back onto the scene, reminding fans of her status as one of the best women's wrestlers on the entire planet. In London, during another TakeOver special, she battled Asuka in a fantastic match that kicked off the show and set the standard for the night's remaining contests.

Asuka won with the crossface chicken wing, not-so-cleverly labeled the Asuka Lock, but both women let it be know to the wrestling world that one does not have to be one of the storied "Four Horsewomen" to demonstrate greatness in women's wrestling inside an NXT ring.
