It shouldn't come as a surprise that the best return pop ever features Steve Austin considering the fact that Austin was the biggest star in WWE during their most successful period ever. There were plenty of Austin pops that could have made it, but it's the one at Backlash 2000 that really stands out. The Rock had a tough time overcoming Triple H, Vince McMahon and friends with the WWE Title on the line, so Austin decided to make an appearance. Austin was out since November of 1999 due to a neck injury that required major surgery. This return was nearly six months after we last saw him. His brief Smackdown return was only done to promote this, but it wasn't a full return in the ring.
