Although everyone remembers The Plane Ride From Hell - one of the most notoriously scandalous incidents in wrestling history - and the fact that one of the consequences of that journey was Curt ‘Mr. Perfect’ Hennig’s firing from the WWF, not everyone remembers why.

If you do remember, you’ll recall that a drunk and obnoxious Hennig was egging on recent main roster debutant Brock Lesnar over which of them was the better amateur wrestler, and riled up the then-Next-Big-Thing so much that the two scuffled in the aisle of the plane itself in an impromptu wrestling match.

Fortunately for Lesnar, Hennig was blamed for the incident, and given his marching orders, while Lesnar himself (earmarked for one of the biggest pushes in company history) kept his job.

In fact, Lesnar considered Hennig one of his very best friends: the two rode together, and he loved him like a brother. When Mr. Perfect passed away in 2003, Lesnar was devastated.
