20 Most Emotional WWE Matches

20. "Macho Man" Randy Savage vs. Ric Flair - WrestleMania VIII

The vendetta between Randy Savage and Ric Flair reached a boiling point in 1992, just weeks prior to WrestleMania VIII in Indianapolis' Hoosier Dome. The WWE champion, Flair attempted to play mind games with his opponent ahead of the titanic showdown, claiming that Savage's wife and valet Miss Elizabeth had engaged in an affair with him and that he had proof in the form of two explicit, nude photos he would hang from the rafters prior to their match. Enraged, Savage vowed to tear his hated rival apart, and fans of the then-World Wrestling Federation were all too eager to see him do so. Flair was a despicable lech, a womanizing villain who was willing to go to any extents to retain his title, even if it meant driving a wedge between one of the most storied relationships in wrestling history. He had humiliated and dishonored Elizabeth and now, he would be forced to face the consequences. Fans roared their approval as Savage bloodied Flair, then used his own cheating ways against him to secure the victory and the WWE Championship. It was very much a heated grudge match, one that showed greater emotion and intensity from the performers than fans of Vince McMahon's larger-than-life circus of sports entertainment were familiar with.
