20 Most Iconic WWE Wrestlers Of All Time

20. "Superstar" Billy Graham

The Superstar is somebody who is often overlooked by modern wrestling fans, but his influence on the professional wrestling industry is immeasurable. Billy Graham was one of the first performers to really deliver unique, engaging and spellbinding promos to captivate audiences like had never been seen before up until that point. The fact that Hulk Hogan, not to mention Jesse "The Body" Ventura, based various parts of his character on Superstar says a lot. But Hogan and Ventura are just two of a vast multitude of wrestlers who were influenced by Billy Graham and who realised that being able to talk the talk was just as important as being able to delver the goods inside the squared circle. Amongst his many years in the then-WWWF and WWF, Graham drew in the big crowds and even defeated the legendary Bruno Sammartino to win the WWWF Heavyweight Championship. As it happened, this title reign would be the first time a heel was given a lengthy, genuine run with the belt, coming in at an impressive 296 days. Whilst some may not be hugely familiar with "Superstar" Billy Graham, he truly is an icon and someone whose reach can still be felt in the wrestling industry to this day.
