20 Most Unbelievable WWE Moments From 2016

It was briefly mentioned already, but Roman Reigns gave fans one of the most unbelievable moments of the year when he failed a Wellness Policy test back in June. It wasn't so unbelievable that Roman would fail a drug test, as he's a professional athlete and human which means he's susceptible to bad decisions as well as mistakes. What made the announcement of the real-life Joe Anoa'i's violation so shocking was that he had been positioned as WWE's premier performer with tons of time and money invested into Roman Reigns.

For years, it's been speculated that WWE protected their top performers by not testing certain talents and/or not acknowledging or punishing these individuals as a result of a failed drug test. It is a very harsh accusation to throw WWE's way, but, fair or unfair, the speculation does exist.

Especially after the past few years of WWE pushing Roman Reigns as their next premier athlete come hell or high water, the news came as an absolute shock.

This certainly goes a long way towards lending credibility to WWE's Wellness Policy. Though we can't be certain of the practices WWE might've utilized in the past, with the 2016 suspension of WWE's golden child, the policy and company's integrity definitely received a boost.
