Chris Jericho underwent a career transformation in 2016: drink it in, mannnnn.

Since 2011, Y2J had been coming-and-going as he pleased through the doors of WWE. He'd show up, usually in a surprise, unadvertised appearance, and give the crowd the greatest hits of Chris Jericho. He'd work some programs with the new up-and-comers and, in a commendable effort, help to further establish these WWE superstars, but more often than not, Jericho found himself on the losing end.

In his mid-forties, Chris was expected to be putting the younger stars over, but it was happening so often that Jericho's appeal as being something special started to take a hit. Jericho was losing so much that he was becoming perceived as an ordinary mid-carder rather than as a future Hall Of Fame attraction.

That all changed in 2016.

While the decision to turn Jericho heel freshened his character up, it was an unlikely association with Universal Champion Kevin Owens that really brought out the best in Chris Jericho. The pairing motivated Jericho to the point that many in the wrestling business consider Chris's latest run to be the finest work of his career.

While his Anton Chirgurh-inspired 2008 character was well received, Jericho's work in 2016 has been good enough to top anyone's List...just not his own.
