20 Most Underappreciated WWE Stars Of The 21st Century

8. Jerry Lynn

Jerry Lynn may not have been one of ECW's most successful Heavyweight Champions, but his feud with Rob Van Dam and his reputation as a wrestler's wrestler who was finally getting his due was a major drawing point for the company during the late '90s. And yes, while RVD was the flashier and more charismatic of the two men, "The New F'n Show" had a fanbase of his own.

Everyone who loved ECW because it felt like the only place where the Jerry Lynns of pro wrestling could get a chance to do their thing was proven right after the league closed and Lynn arrived in WWE. While he captured the Light Heavyweight Title in his debut match, he only made a handful of Raw and Smackdown appearances. His last WWE match happened three months after his debut, and he was released in 2002.

Lynn would go on to more success in wrestling, winning titles in TNA and Ring of Honor. The fact that WWE soured on him so quickly, though, still remains very strange.
