20 Possible WWE Royal Rumble 2016 Surprise Entrants

12. Kurt Angle

Kurt would be higher on the list if there was more of a chance that a 2016 Rumble appearance would actually happen. A former multiple time world champion, Angle's been very clear about retiring from TNA in January and previously was open about a desire to return to WWE, but the feeling wasn't exactly mutual. Still, Kurt Angle would be one of the biggest surprise entrants that WWE has an actual shot of pulling off this year.

The benefit of having Kurt on the roster, especially at a time when WWE could drastically use an injection of star power, has probably been overlooked. Provided the Olympic gold medalist could pass a physical, the company could do worse then bringing in Kurt, even on a part-time basis, and have his return take place at the Royal Rumble.
