Vince McMahon is currently going through the most scatter-brained creative period of his career, and it all stems from the ratings crisis, with the Chairman desperate for anything that might stop Raw and SmackDown's slide into the abyss.

The Wild Card nonsense is his latest last-minute quick fix. McMahon threw it together with no thought of foresight, and it wouldn't be a surprise to learn that he came up with it minutes before Raw went on the air, so haphazard was its introduction. It's nuts, and it won't be the last out-of-nowhere switch-up the big man does in his attempts at stopping the rot.

2019 Vince is one of the boss' most entertaining incarnations, with McMahon throwing all manner of ill-conceived ideas at his tumbling viewership until something sticks. There has never been a more appropriate time to argue that he has completely lost the plot.
