20 Reasons Why Last Night's WWE Raw Was An Absolute Mess

16. 20 Minutes Of Baron Corbin

Baron Corbin, for all the perverse joy he brings your writer, is ratings poison.

Raw was largely built around his 'Constable' character in late 2018. It bombed to such a degree that the McMahons were literally forced to break kayfabe and acknowledge the full extent of the show's suckiness on air, leading to that dreadful "you're the boss now, fans!" segment, in which Baron was presented as the scapegoat. Logically, this should've led to Corbin's demotion. If Baron is the problem, surely the McMahons wouldn't only remove him from power, but shunt him back to the midcard... right?

Nah, son. Here's your man, Big Banter, ratings poison, wrestling for 20 bloody minutes after THAT opening segment, on a show custom-built to spike viewership.

The creative department's brains must be on holiday in Opposite Land, because none of that makes sense.
