20 Reasons Why WWE Fastlane 2019 Was An Absolute Mess

16. Mandy Needs Protection?

Mandy Rose vs. Asuka was mediocre, because of course it was, and the "logic" behind its finish might be the worst thing about it.

WWE decided that Mandy Rose needed to be protected in defeat to Asuka. Think about how ridiculous that is for a second. Rose, an undercarder, couldn't take a clean pinfall or submission to someone who once went 914 days undefeated. Instead, they had to concoct the convoluted ring curtain gimmick, because lord forbid this hot-shotted SmackDown Women's Title contender 'The Empress' a decisive finish, and lord forbid WWE actually put some effort into making Asuka look dominant in victory.

This bout played out to polite golf claps and mumbles, with only ripples of minor excitement to break the arena's library-like atmosphere. Booking like this will only exacerbate such problems.
