Another way in which the wrestlers prevented awkward silences from creeping in was by beating the absolute p*ss out of each other all weekend long, with the sugness, stiffness, and straight-up nastiness turned up a notch or two in several bouts.

Daniel Bryan's control segment on Sami Zayn was particularly physical, as was the entire Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair clash, Shayna Baszler vs. Becky Lynch, and more. There was no need for thigh-slaps and other shortcuts at WrestleMania 36: these men and women really laid into each other, perhaps knowing that anything else would've looked faker than a Canadian Destroyer no-sell.

It wasn't quite a half-blind Stan Hansen throwing hellfire for fear of looking soft, but it was a hell of a lot harder than usual, and more convincing as a result.
