20 Shocking WWE Plans You Won’t Believe
12. New Jack Stabs John Cena
Chances are high that if you know who New Jack is, you’ll also know that he’s a legitimate lunatic. The former ECW wrestler is better known for his penchant for craziness than any of his actual wrestling accomplishments, and his willingness to take ridiculous bumps and go way too far make him one of the most dangerous men in the business. Seriously, look up the Mass Transit Incident and the Danbury Fall…
You’d think that New Jack’s reputation would make him a persona non grata in the industry, but no. In fact, WWE considered bringing him in for a brief period in 2004. Carlito had just made his debut by beating John Cena for the United States title, and later that night, Cena was storyline stabbed at a Boston nightclub. All the signs pointed towards Carlito, but his bodyguard Jesus was eventually revealed as the perpetrator.
The original plan, however, was to have New Jack come in as the villain. Instead, New Jack and WWE couldn’t agree on terms, and Jesus was added as a last minute replacement. While New Jack would’ve been entirely believable in this role (he once stabbed indy wrestler William Jason Lane nine times during a match), it’s hard to think of a man less suited to WWE’s squeaky clean product.
