Kenny Omega Sends Will Ospreay A Lesson After AEW Redemption 2026 Main Event (AEW News)
AEW Redemption closed out with Kenny Omega hitting Will Ospreay with the One Winged Angel.
With AEW Redemption now in the books, the main event of All In is now set in stone: Kenny Omega defending the AEW World Championship against Will Ospreay. However, by the time all was said and done at Redemption, it was Ospreay left lying after being on the receiving end of Omega's One Winged Angel.
In that Redemption main event, it was the Best Bout Machine successfully retaining the AEW World Title against Kevin Knight, which was then followed by a post-match attack on Kenny by the Death Riders. The Young Bucks tried to come to Omega's rescue, but they, too, were taken out by Jon Moxley's crew, and we got to a point where Mox had Kenny's neck placed in a chair, ready to Pillmanize him. That's when Will Ospreay made his presence known.
After Will came out to stop that attack on Kenny Omega, he was initially greeted by a hug from Wheeler Yuta, with Yuta slyly giving Claudio Castagnoli the signal to go ahead with the attack on Omega. With Ospreay realising what was about to happen, he shoved Claudio to the mat, only to be confronted by Moxley, as Mox brought out a plastic bag and gestured for the Brit to use that to suffocate Kenny. Following some deliberation, Ospreay ripped that bag to pieces, was berated by Moxley, and eventually hit Moxley with a forearm and took out the rest of the Death Riders.
So, Will Ospreay, making the heroic save for Kenny Omega, fending off the Death Riders, right? While that was indeed the case, Omega was clearly not happy with what had played out. As the Death Riders left the ring, Ospreay threw his Death Riders-branded kneepad at them, then handed Kenny the AEW World Title and shared a handshake... only for Omega to grab the Aerial Assassin off the second rope and hit him with the One Winged Angel, all as a confused Young Bucks looked on, with Kenny seemingly believing that Will was going to use that plastic bag on him.
With All In now one month away - August 30th, from London's Wembley Stadium - it appears that tensions are already getting high for that PPV's hotly-anticipated main event.
