Wrestling fans will always point to CM Punk's lengthy 434-day reign as WWE Champion between late-2011 until early-2013 as the longest in the modern era. Unfortunately for Punk-supporting statisticians everywhere, that's simply not the case. Trish Stratus had a much longer reign as 'World Champ' than Punk.

Her sixth Women's Title stint lasted 448 days.

Stratus beat Lita at New Year's Revolution on 9 January 2005 and held the belt until losing it to Mickie James at WrestleMania 22 on 2 April 2006. Not only was that longer than Punk's reign, it was also the lengthiest Women's Title reign since Rockin' Robin's 502 days between 1988-1990.

There you go. Trish's penultimate Women's Championship run was the longest of the modern era by 14 full days. Of course, the female belt was hardly considered in the same league as the WWE Title until fairly recently, and there are some who will likely never view them as equal.

In terms of pure days though, Stratus has Punk beat.
