Starting at the beginning is always wise.

It's a common misconception that Trish Stratus didn't love pro wrestling and only snuck in the side door due to her work as a model. That's simply not true. Trish spoke of loving the industry even before she put pen to paper on a WWE contract, and she never masked the fact that she watched growing up.

Stratus was born in 1975, which means she would've been a young kid when the WWF expanded nationally and a teenager during memorable moments like WrestleMania VI's 'Ultimate Challenge' (in her native Toronto) or the rise of Bret Hart as a singles star. She continued watching during the lean mid-90s and into the Attitude boom.

WWE's 24 documentary on the Network revealed that Trish couldn't get enough of wrestling, and she definitely wasn't some airhead blonde model type who wanted in for an easy ride. That's a fallacy that must be hammered straight away.
