20 Things You Didn’t Know About Trish Stratus

19. A Uni Strike Ended Her Dream Of Becoming A Doctor

Despite her love of pro wrestling growing up, Trish had one dream and one dream only. She wanted to become a doctor, and that's why she enrolled to study at York University in Toronto. By 1997 though, a uni-wide strike had blighted 60% of courses on the faculty, and Stratus' biology and kinesiology was affected.

She changed plans overnight.

Distraught by the thought of never being able to complete her mission, Trish changed tact and started throwing her focus towards working out. She was a natural in the gym, and had always stayed healthy anyway, so it didn't take long before the Canadian beauty was turning heads over by the weight benches.

It's amazing to think she might not have gone into fitness modelling at all had the York University strike not happened. One disagreement between uni staff and faculty heads was all it took for Trish to spin off into a whole new world.
