Overcoming natural beauty would become a theme of Trish's life.

When she met Edge through some of those media commitments mentioned earlier, Stratus leapt on the opportunity to enrol in the same training school he had used in Toronto. A short while later, she turned up at Sully's Gym and asked head trainer Ron Hutchinson if she could start training.

Hutchinson didn't hide the fact that he was surprised. Stratus would be the only female in the class, and he viewed her as some dainty blonde model who would quit after one or two sessions. That stereotype was one Trish had to live with, but it motivated her to prove everybody (including Ron) wrong.

Everyone at Sully's would have to eat humble pie when Stratus bumped around like a woman possessed and refused to shy away from hard work. Soon, she became one of Hutchinson's favourite students, and he could see she was destined for big things.
