19. He Was A Talented Basketball Player

Because being a badass wrestler isn't enough cool for one lifetime, Calaway was also a talented basketball player in his youth, playing for Waltrip High School, later studying at Angelina College on a basketball scholarship, and finally playing as a center at Texas Wesleyan University.

In 1986, Calaway decided to drop out of college and pursue sports full time, leading him to pursue professional wrestling after briefly considering playing basketball in Europe.

As Taker confirmed in The Last Ride, his father was none too happy about his decision to drop out of college and attempt to become a wrestler. Thankfully, it of course all worked out for the best.
