20 Things You Didn't Know About The Undertaker
15. Paul Heyman Managed Him In WCW (And Got Him A Job In WWE)
Calaway joined WCW in 1989, whereby he adopted the in-ring moniker "Mean Mark" Callous, and after a short tag team stint, became a singles wrestler, managed by none other than Paul E. Dangerously - better known these days as Paul Heyman.
Better still, Heyman played an instrumental role in getting him a job with WWE and effectively making the next 30 years of his career. 'Taker said:
"Paul really came to be a beneficial part of my career. Paul was friends with Bruce Prichard, and those two opened up a line of conversation about coming to the WWE...Paul pushed Bruce, and I finally got that meeting with Vince. So hindsight being 20/20, I am one of the original 'Paul Heyman Guys.'"
It's especially ironic given that Heyman of course went on to manage Brock Lesnar, even during the match which saw Brock break 'Taker's long-hallowed WrestleMania streak.
