20 Things You Learn Watching WWE Since 1997
14. Someone Has Questionable Taste In Music
WWE runs at least a dozen PPV events a year, and each of those events gets a theme song. Since pro wrestling isn't exactly the hottest ticket in town, the company can't afford to get Beyoncé songs for No Mercy, so they have to go with more under-the-radar musicians. There's nothing wrong with lesser-known acts, but the ones the company chooses always sound the same, and that sound is bad.
For more reference, just look at the few popular acts whose songs WWE can access. AC/DC certainly aren't bad, but someone at the company really likes the band - probably the same person who thinks Metallica didn't hit their stride until Load.
Sometimes, WWE gets "hot" artists to perform for them - like Kid Rock at WrestleMania 25 or Flo Rida at WrestleMania 28. The less said about the quality of those performances, the better, but one thing's for sure - even the days of Cyndi Lauper seem good in comparison.
