20 Things You Learn Watching WWE Since 1997
12. John Cena Is Truly Amazing
Over the past two decades, a ton of top stars and world champions have come and go - but among the most ubiquitous of these superstars has been John Cena. Though many fans resent him and see him as the face of the PG era, Cena has been invaluable to the company.
Cena may never have reached the mainstream heights of Steve Austin or (especially) The Rock, but his body of work has been every bit as strong as those of both men - and his longevity on top has been nothing short of astounding. You can criticize WWE for failing to make new stars and for weak business since the end of the Attitude Era - both valid points - but Cena has been the glue holding things together.
No, he's not perfect, but for anyone who's followed wrestling for a long time, his achievements speak for themselves. Few stars in any era or any country have competed in as many classics as Cena, and history will remember him kindly.
