20 Things You Probably Missed From WWE SmackDown (April 30)

6. Paul Heyman Dissing The Indys

Paul Heyman once ran a company some WWF and WCW fan boys would've regarded as small time. His ECW revolution wore its cult status proudly though, so it was interesting to hear Heyman run down indy wrestling on SmackDown.

Mid-promo, he paused to say that Daniel Bryan once “set the peewee leagues on fire with his passion”. He spat that in a condescending tone, then said that Bryan later graduated to the big time stages WWE provides. Paul E was in character, but that line was probably scripted for him.

WWE hardly ever acknowledges anything Bryan did pre-2010 as worthwhile.
