20 Times WWE Was An Absolute Mess In 2020

3. The Use Of Bill Goldberg

That Bill Goldberg still pops quarter-hour numbers and generates interest for his returns means WWE should keep booking him, at least until it stops making business sense. Still, their use of the former WCW Champion was calamitous in 2020.

Say what you will about Bray Wyatt and his 'Fiend' character, but the gimmick was hugely popular at the time of Super ShowDown 2020, with online fans particularly vocal in their support and merchandise flying off the shelves. The whole deal was over. Booking the murder clown in a murdersquash loss to a 53-year-old in steep decline (for the Universal Championship!) was therefore a terrible idea that should never have escaped the creative room.

The silver lining to this grey cloud was Goldberg's feud with Roman Reigns, which started with suitable intensity until the pandemic prompted Reigns to remove himself from television. Wyatt, meanwhile, hadn't looked so useless since his 'Eater of Worlds' days.
