20 WCW Easter Eggs, References And In-Jokes You Never Noticed
15. March 26, 2001
The ultimate easter egg of easter eggs is to sit down with the WWE Network and watch WWF Monday Night Raw and WCW Monday Nitro from March 26, 2001. Yes, it's one week prior to Wrestlemania X-7, but it's also the week where the sale of WCW to the WWF becomes official. Between Booker T's first ever mention on WCW television, to Shane McMahon in a WCW ring at Club La Vela in Panama City Beach, Florida, Tony Schiavone putting over Wrestlemania on a WCW broadcast and more, both shows are completely bizarre. Just counting how many times WCW is mentioned on WWF TV in the program is hilarious, and for WCW, the look on so many wrestler's faces that this may be the last time they'll ever wrestle for a mainstream pro wrestling company is actually heartbreaking.
