The blatant misuse of talented Superstars Booker T and Rob Van Dam was never more apparent than it was in the spring of 2004. Rather than finding themselves in contention for singles gold, the two immediately recognizable giants of the industry were stuck in the deep, dark abyss that is the WWE midcard. With nothing else better for the five-time WCW champion and "Mr. Monday Night" to do, they were paired together in a tag team and quickly given a win over Ric Flair and Batista for the Raw brand's tag straps. Still immensely popular with the fans, they at least gave the rebuilding tag division some star power but one could not help but recognize that the company was, again, taking the focus away from legitimate teams in order to focus on singles competitors already firmly established in the minds of the audience. Van Dam and Booker had some solid title defenses throughout their 35-day reign but not enough to justify a better spot on this list or overcome what was shoddy tag team chemistry between them from an in-ring standpoint.
