20 Worst WWE Wrestlers Since 2000

18. David Otunga

Though most of The Nexus' low-level grunts were quickly jettisoned from WWE once the angle had ran its course, David Otunga has somehow parlayed it into a seven-year run with the company. This is baffling, as not only is the Harvard Law School graduate WWE's most vanilla commentator, but he was a woefully unconvincing all-rounder during his run as an active wrestler.

Otunga's physique ticks one of Vince McMahon's biggest checkboxes, and the company likely thought they could use his marriage to Jennifer Hudson to draw eyes to the product. Neither mean anything if the wrestler in question can't work, though. This was certainly the case for the uncharismatic Otunga, who wrestled with all the fire and passion of a deflated beach ball, and exhibited no noticeable improvement throughout his five-year run.

There have been several long periods of time where WWE have literally paid Otunga to do nothing, with the former Nexus man regularly going missing from television. This continued in 2017, when Booker T replaced him in Raw's announce booth. Now, David's contributions are restricted solely to pay-per-view Kickoff Show panels, which is probably the best place for him.
