20 Wrestlers Who Stole A Living From WWE

13. CM Punk

CM Punk isn€™t on this list because he€™s a bad wrestler; he€™s on this list because WWE spent so much time and money building him up, and he ended up not only leaving the company on bad terms, but has been bad-mouthing the company at every opportunity. CM Punk left WWE for a myriad of reasons, some more justifiable than others. However, being a man with a large ego, Punk thought that he was such a big star that he considered his career a failure because he didn€™t main-event WrestleMania. This was despite the fact that he was arguably the most popular wrestler on the roster, and had achieved more than many of his former co-workers could€™ve dreamed of. WWE gave him a ton of money and favors, but for that simply wasn€™t enough. He couldn€™t see beyond his own desires and the prospect of a WrestleMania match with Triple H (which would€™ve sold like crazy, given how badly many people wanted to see Punk kick Hunter€™s a**), caused him to leave. Just like that, all of his hard work, and all of the time and money WWE invested in him went down the drain. However, what makes Punk€™s entry more important is that even after he has turned his attention to MMA, he still continues to take a stab at WWE. Recently, he called WWE €˜fake€™ and made more critical comments towards his former employer. While virtually everyone knows that WWE is scripted entertainment, he€™s still damaging WWE€™s public image, which only hurts the wrestlers down the road. By this point, Punk appears to beating a dead horse; everyone knows that he€™s never going back, and with his wife retired from wrestling, so he has literally no connection to WWE left. So why pour salt on the wound by trying to delegitimize WWE and possibly hurt their profits, which in turn would lead to the hard-working wrestlers making less money?
