20 WTF Moments From WWE Attitude Era Raw 1998 (Jan 26)
Stupid DX antics, several nasty botches, and our first title change of 1998!
"Austin wants Tyson! Tyson wants Austin!" yelled Jim Ross at the close of last week's show, implying that all hell was about to break loose in the world of pro-wrestling. What on earth would happen next week? Would Tyson storm into the arena and punch Stone Cold out? Would the Rattlesnake drop 'Iron' Mike with the world's most shocking Stunner? Probably not, but surely there'd be some sort of continuation to the hostilities, right? Well, erm, not exactly. This week's Raw sees absolutely no sign of Tyson - not even a sniff of a pre-recorded promo - and even Austin puts in a very low-key (for him) performance. Thankfully, we've got an absolutely ridiculous undercard to make up for it, featuring all manner of botches, squashes and swerves. There's even a title change, potentially one of the weakest (or at least most controversial) in the entire history of the Monday Night Wars. Had it been for the WWF Championship, we'd likely still be hearing about it today.
